My Daily Success Plan

This is day 5 of Natalie Sisson’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge. In the previous post, I concluded with the realization it was time to unprocrastinate. Sadly, that seems to be a lesson that is repeated until I've learned it. So I'm not taking any chances. The assignment for the fifth day of the challenge is to outline a daily success plan in as much detail as possible so that it can serve as a template for the routine needed to level up on the way to a freedom lifestyle. TIC TOC 0500 … [Read more...]

My Superpowers

This is day 4 of Natalie Sisson's 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge. Today's question was a difficult one to answer. At least, it was for me. You see, I never think of myself as being particularly good at anything. I love to do a lot of things, and I love to do them well. But to say I'm really good at something? Normally, I just wouldn't do that. So, to answer this question, I tricked myself by rephrasing the question slightly: "what am I currently most passionate about learning?" Then, I asked … [Read more...]

My Perfect Day

This is Day 3 of Natalie Sisson’s 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge and it was a real challenge for me. Natalie made it sound so simple in her instruction video: "Just describe your perfect day." I started to write a seriously longform post only to discover I wasn't writing about my perfect day at all. I was writing about my current most ideal day.  So I started over. Morning I wake up naturally at 6AM and cuddle up with my wife for a few more minutes before I get out of bed. I drink a glass … [Read more...]

Freedom To Learn And To Teach

This is Day 2 of Natalie Sisson's 10 Day Freedom Plan Blog Challenge, and it's a doozy. I thought it would be really hard to identify my main purpose in life after yesterday's blog post, but as it turns out the answer just leapt onto the paper as soon as I started typing. For me, the most cherished freedom is the freedom to learn and to teach. Why learning? I love to learn. Not just useful stuff, but whatever I find interesting. When I was a little boy, I fell in love with photography through … [Read more...]

Three Challenges That Are Holding Me Back

I'm participating in Natalie Sisson's 10-Day Blog Challenge. The reason I signed up for this is that I have this blog, and I'm not writing anything. So, what am I doing? Sadly, the honest answer appears to be watching Netflix. I'm currently binging on Firefly. I have this awesome list of stuff I want to get done all set up in Todoist, I've got it hooked up to a master list of options in Trello. And I'm just looking at it. This is not the first time I've hit peak-procrastination. And I don't … [Read more...]

  • Awesome!
October 19, 2015 by MartinHunt from United Kingdom

I really love this podcast Laurens. It’s great to know there is someone out there who is as passionate about sketching as I am. That passion really does shine through in the episodes. Keep up the great work.

I met Laurens at New Media Europe and was amazed at hit sketchnoting. I never heard of it before. This led me to this podcast. Great audio and great guest. This is a whole new world to explore. Keep it up.

I met Lawrence at the NMEU conference. He is such a talented individual. I could hardly pay attention to the lecture as I was too busy watching him draw his notes. I had no idea this was even a thing. I'm now hooked. I don't have any talent! But I can appreciate good work and passion when I see it. He is so passionate about this topic. You can't help but be inspired!! Well done!! Looking forward to learning more!!
